Recommended minimum dosage is 30 minutes, with headphones on. If you just get a short listen, everything will probably sound the same and you’ll come away thinking I’m some kind of crackpot.
A good long listen should help you see that there really is a lot going on here. If that doesn’t work, perhaps you just don’t have the gene. I’m sorry about that, but thanks for stopping by.

Not yet, maybe someday. You’re listening to a set of field recordings I made in the spring of 2026, taken while the sea lions were gorging on herring in order to fatten up for the long run south.
If it turns out I’m not the only listener, I’ll look into getting a livestream set up for next season. At this point, I have no idea what would be involved in that, but I’m curious enough to stare at the ceiling in the middle of the night wondering. So we’ll see.

Absolutely. I’ll send five stickers for free to anyone who asks. The stickers are 3×2” with the image you see at the top of the home page.
Use the feedback form to tell me where to send them.

Well…, I made some for myself, so if you see any around town, that’s me. Please say hi!
I would love to offer some merch, but as with the livestream, let’s see if anybody actually listens first.
If we ever get to merch, any proceeds beyond costs to run this ramshackle operation will be donated to Puget Soundkeeper. This is not intended to be a money making enterprise, much better to help the sea lions and their friends.
Use the feedback form to let me know if you’d like merch.

My name is Chris Mills. I’m a longtime Ballard resident. My job title here at SeaLionRadio.org is Senior Grunt and Snort Curator. Could have gone with CEO but that’s not my style.
I want to live in a world that’s bursting at the seams with positive creative energy. That seems more important than ever these days.
I admire everyone else in the community that’s making things better with their art, music, writing, small businesses, volunteer work, and so on.
This is my attempt at joining the club, I can’t wait to see yours.
